​David Wayne Griffin was born November 18, 1959 to the late Lawrence and Ester May Griffin.  God quietly called David home on Thursday February 6, 2025 at his residence.  He accepted Christ at an early age at Elevated Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend J.J. Northington.  David was in the graduating class of 1979 from Franklin-Simpson High School.  While attending high school he was a Manager for the Franklin-Simpson Wildcat Football Team.  In David’s younger days, he enjoyed playing basketball and softball with family and friends.  Over the years he worked several jobs in the industrial and manufacturing industries until he found his calling at Faurecia where he worked for 19 years until his retirement.  

​David was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years Ann, his mother Ester May Griffin, father Lawrence Griffin, brothers William Griffin, James “Pap” Griffin, Kenneth Griffin, sister Drucilla Griffin, sister in law Gwendolyn “Tweet” Griffin, great nephew Tevin Griffin, and great niece Talia Stovall. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters Margaret “Margo” Griffin and Ruth “Ann” Griffin, his brother Michael Griffin; a special cousin who was more like a big brother James Briscoe; his beloved nieces and nephews, of whom he often referred to as his “babies”, Charles “Big Kevin”, Stacey, Kevin “Lil Kevin”, Freddie Lee, Andrea, William, and Deandrea; his great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
