Gloria Jane Duncan was born on September 9th, 1950 and was called to rest on December 21st, 2024. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Arthur H. Hassell and Cinderella Hassell; Brother, Amos "Pap" Doaks Jr; and Sisters, Mary Elizabeth Boards and Rachel Annabell Doaks Carter.

Gloria is survived by her husband of fifty years, Charles Duncan. She is also survived by Sons, Shawn (Tara) Duncan (Lebanon, TN) and Shane Duncan (Nashville, TN); Step-daughter, Richele Barnett Bell; Sisters, Hartense Doaks (Franklin, KY), Gwendolyn (Clarence) Ray (Franklin, KY), Gaynell (William) Saunders (San Antonio, TX), and Greta S. Hassell (Lexington, KY); Grandchildren, Glorie Duncan, Sloan Duncan, Falynn Norman and Jarris “Tre” Bell; Great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Sloan and Rhett Etheridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Gloria was a graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School. At an early age, she accepted Christ and later became an ordained minister to preach the gospel. Gloria delivered her first sermon at Harvesters Warehouse Pentecostal Church in Franklin, Kentucky. Gloria dedicated her life to sharing the teachings of Christ within her community. She exemplified and embodied the word of God in her daily life.  A couple of her favorite scriptures were: 

 

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” 

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
