Mrs. Rachel Annabell Doaks Carter 83, of Franklin, Ky transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on August 8, 2024.She is preceded in death by her mother Mrs. Cinderella Whitney Hassell, Father Rev. Amos Doaks, Daughter Elizabeth Ann Barnett, Brother Amos "Pap" Doaks Jr and Sister Mary Elizabeth Boards.

Rachel never met a stranger. If you met Rachel and didn't know her by the time you separated ways you definitely knew her and she knew you.

Rachel leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Walter Carter with 32 years of marriage. 2 sons Kenneth (Ann) Doaks (Glasgow, KY) and Bryant (Morgan) Carter (Winchester, IN) 5 Sisters Hartense Doaks (Franklin, KY), Gloria (Charles) Duncan (Portland, TN), Gwendolyn (Clarence) Ray (Franklin, KY), Gaynell (William) Saunders (San Antonio, TX) and Greta S. Hassell (Lexington, KY). Rachel also leaves to cherish her memories of 3 step children, Walter Lee Bland (Portland, TN), Greg Carter (Franklin, KY) and Victoria Carter (Bowling Green, KY). 

Rachel was a proud grandmother of 20 and great grandmother of 16, also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She had a special friend she called everyday Mrs. Evelyn Bufford and her husband Mr. Melvin Bufford, Her great niece that would take her anywhere Harley Holder.

You will be dearly missed but you will always be held dear to our hearts and your spirit is always around and with us. Take your rest dear loved one and know we love you always and forever. We the family of the late Rachel A. Carter wishes to thank each and everyone for all the prayers, flowers, calls, food, cards and whatever else you have done for the family. We truly appreciate each and everyone for the love and kindness you have shown us. May God bless each of you.
