Vickie Gayle Jones

On March 2, 2026, heaven gained another angel.

Vickie Gayle Jones was born on November 25, 1957 in Russellville, Ky to the late Mack Torrence and Jewel Torrence. Vickie accepted Christ at an early age, at Macedonia Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her health began to decline. She loved singing in the choir and often felt the Spirit move as she rendered her favorite songs, “Oh, How Precious” and “Tell It.” 

Vickie was a 1975 graduate of Auburn High School, where she became the first black cheerleader. She was employed for many years at Spectrum and Car Mart, where she worked diligently and faithfully.

Vickie was known as the life of the party and had a genuine love for people. Her warmth, laughter, and vibrant personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met.Vickie was known for being honest and straightforward, qualities that earned her both love and respect from those around her.

 She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 43 years, Darryl Jones Bowling Green, Kentucky; herson, Maricio Torrence Bowling Green, Kentucky; and her daughter, Courtney Jones Bowling Green, Kentucky; her mother, Jewel Torrence Bowling Green, Kentucky; one brother: Ray Torrence (Lisa), Seattle, Washington; five sisters: Debra Peterson, Bowling Green, Kentucky, Annie Hampton (Donnie) Russellville, Kentucky, Robin Cornelius (Marcus) Bowling Green, Kentucky, Charnetta Torrence Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Tatrica Osborne (Eric) Elkton, Kentucky;two sisters-in-laws - Letha Jones, Kinston, North Carolina, Brenda Phillips Kinston, North Carolina; one aunt, Susie Bell.

Vickie was the favorite aunt and loved spoiling her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She also leaves behind many cousins and friends.

Her legacy of love, faith,  and joy, will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
